A Close Call

Tucked away in a dark alley, you will find one of China's culinary secrets - a restaurant that is only frequented by the locals - famous for it's Peking duck. It is said that the oven is over 400 years old.

After Tom, Josie, Quatchi and I had a scrumptious dinner, Tom had a moment of creative genius. Always willing to go that extra mile, he lay on the street in order to catch the reflection of a neon sign. All was going as planned until three barking / bluff charging dogs came out of no where and headed straight for him. He jumped up in fear (which of course he blames on Josie and Quatchi, apparently they had a horrified expression) - only to find that the dogs were three tiny, little things. As if this wasn't embarrassing enough, poor Tom had to do the dreaded walk of shame in front of a group of cooks, who just happened to be outside having a smoke. Needless to say, they thought the gringo with the camera was a very funny guy.

Nice shot, Tom.

I'm glad those doggies didn't attack you and Q. (They probably didn't want to get their paws wet).

I hope that you will take the Big Cat there for Beijing Duck next week.

Is a white man in China considered a Gringo? Hmmm....some things must just be universal. :)

Perhaps T was looking through his wide angle lens? That's why the little pups seemed so menacing? Or did they slip him some Beijing "chicken"?

And you don't give the name or the address to this place with the great Peking Duck? How will Stephen find it next time he's there?????
